The origin of Japanese horror, "Ghost Painting," comes to life!
That famous work of art everyone knows—now brought to life as a figma! That’s the concept behind the Table Museum series. The ninth installment in the series features Ghost Painting (also known as The Spirit Summoning Incense), a work by Maruyama Ōkyo, a popular painter of the Edo period.
This piece is said to be the first depiction of a “ghost without legs,” and it has been faithfully recreated in delicate three-dimensional form. By swapping out certain parts, you can also reproduce the even more eerie version of the ghost as originally painted by Ōkyo.
Experience the haunting beauty, eerie presence, and subtle humor of traditional ghost art through figma. To accompany the transformation from painting to figure, a special frame part is included—allowing for displays that look as if the ghost has leapt straight out of the canvas. Enjoy this innovative interpretation of a classic painting in your own unique way.
The Yurei-zu figure comes with figma’s original smooth and precise joint parts, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. Transparent parts are used throughout to recreate a floating, ethereal look. Accessories Includes interchangeable head parts with distinct facial expressions and expressive interchangeable hand parts. In addition to the articulated figma stand, a background panel of the painting and a special picture frame part are also included.
