Product Description
The DE10 series belonging to JR Freight's Sendai General Railway Division was used to pull freight trains on the Ishinomaki Line and to switch at the Sendai Freight Terminal, but was replaced by the DD200 series and retired from regular service in 2022.
Even after retirement from regular service, they continued to serve as substitutes for the DD200 series, with No. 1539 and No. 1591 remaining until January 2025.
No. 1539 was one of the early 1500 series manufactured, and was characterized by being equipped with a DT132A engine. No. 1591 was restored to JNR colors in 2016, and was active from its introduction until its retirement without ever leaving the Sendai area.
The DE10-1539 model reproduces the appearance of the new JR Freight updated cars with a gray radiator and vermilion cab door as well as the appearance of the bonnet lift step on the 2nd end side. This model is equipped with DT132A 3-axle bogie with a gray bogie frame and silver wheels.
The DE10-1591 model reproduces the appearance when restored to JNR colors. This model is equipped with DT141 3-axle bogie with a black bogie frame and black wheels.
Some assembly is required as the number plate, whistle cover, and other accesories are not attached.
