BigBad is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to join our technology team. The ideal candidate possesses a background designing and/or building .NET based Web applications. This position requires candidates to work from a deep understanding of .NET code and architecture to develop innovative solutions that allow our clients to achieve business objectives. Additionally, the solutions architect must possess paramount analytical and communication skills to lead constructive conversations with internal project teams and clients.

This position requires heavy involvement at the outset of new engagements, working alongside other members of the core project team, including interactive strategists, information architects, art directors and project managers, to collaboratively develop unique solutions that accomplish project objectives. As these solutions progress, the solutions architect must be able to write and maintain detailed business and system level requirements that communicate the solutions to our development and quality assurance teams. As the solutions are executed, the architect must provide oversight to ensure projects are built to spec and deliverables are presented to clients on time.

Responsibilities/Requirements include but are not limited to:

• Work with our Technology, Strategy and Information Architecture teams to help elicit business requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use case scenarios, business analysis, and task & workflow analysis.
• Ability to develop creative solutions to business objectives through the combined use of out-of-box functionality, third-party integration, and custom code development.
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, deconstruct high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information into general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the true underlying needs.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
• Work independently as the leader of the technical vision, while working with cross-discipline teams to deliver optimal solutions.
• Strong analytical and technical project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally and collaboratively, serving as the conduit between various departments in the company and the technology development team through which requirements flow.
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs (while always taking timelines and deliverables into account).
• Motivated by a fast-paced, team environment.
• Ability to multitask and work on multiple complex tasks that come together under one deadline.

Experience/Education

• 5+ years in growth positions
• BA/BS Degree minimum (Computer Science or similar preferred)
• Working understanding of .NET based CMS or WCM platforms required
• Experience working in a professional services agency, consulting firm or start-up environment preferred
